Scriabin Prelude Op.11 No.4 in E minor (Lento)
I have found it very odd that until this day I have never touched a Scriabin piece, maybe because I have never listened to his music or maybe found his music boring, I don't know? But this prelude here in E minor is just beautiful and lyrical with lovely harmonies to play with. I might consider playing a few more pieces by Scriabin but I am currently polishing up Schubert Impromptu Op.90 No.2 and practicing Beethoven Sonata No.15 'Pastoral' in D Major 1st Movement. I hope you enjoy my performance!

Beethoven był melodyjny.🎹🎹🎹
Sigh...... long sigh............💫🙏
perfection
That was incredible, never heard someone play that ending so crazy good. Sad that people will hear that one note despite the flawless performance though.
An absolute disgrace. The astounding thing, if you care to waste your time reading all the comments on this page, is that his outlandishly imbecilic facial and body 'expressions' are met with approval and admiration by 90% of his viewers. Never mind that the "show" he's putting on consists of contrived, cheap, manipulative gestures that would've horrified Liberace. Lang knows (boy, does he EVER know!) how to charm and 'romance' his audiences, and he's ready and willing to do ANYthing - - whtatever it takes - - to win them over. (Not so hard to do, by the way). I've never heard of a performing musician who's dared to conduct himself in such a circus-worthy fashion as this. Just go ahead and watch a good portion of this video with the sound turned off. It should hit you like dynamite . . . he's an actor who happens to play the piano. As I said earlier, an absolute disgrace.
0:07 *slides his feet*
This sonata played by Kempf has been with me for 60 years. His tempo for the second movement obeys Beethoven: Nicht zu geschwind und sehr singbar vorztragen.
if you dont know the backstory heres an overview: basically chopin is sad because hes away from his family but in his home place there's a war so he cant spend christmas with his family or even come back to see them in fact, the middle part is actually a polish christmas carol

Hoe is it possible for a man to play the piano this good

This is a tasteless exhibition of emotions which is totally contrary to what we know about Chopin‘s own play, characterized by simplicity and aristocratic restraint and self-control. Chopin hated sentimentality. He would have been shocked by such ridiculous behaviour and often made fun of it as he was an excellent actor and liked to imitate the eccentricities of his colleagues. If Lang Lang played this etude at the Warsaw Chopin competition nobody would take him seriously.
Is there a recording of this performance anywhere? I can't even stand to listen to other renditions because this one set the standard for me.
Bit rushed😢
A bold Mozart, a modern Mozart, a different Mozart, a Lang Lang + Mozart
Lang Lang realmente me hace llorar...esa entrega al ejecutar a todos los grandes músicos, con esa sencillez que le caracteriza, me dice qué es un alma grande...me hace muy Félix el escucharlo. Besitos.
Here, i may forgive his "absurd bodily expressions." That is because of the beauty conveyed throughout the entire performance. IMO, it's as almost as good as Barenboim's fantastic recording. Listen without watching the video, and with well-trained ears, you may realize that this is delicate, beautiful, clean, respectful, and even humble Mozart.
To the person from Space Email, re: your note - I hope you’re doing better, now, and I hope you learned to play this song.
Wow! Impressive!
Che grande
Lang Lang does have a flair for showmanship. He nevertheless, in my opinion, overkilled this piece. His performance is whimsical with excessive use of the rubato and dynamic contrast which made the masterpiece sound a bit outlandish. [偷笑]
the best pianist i love the emotions facial expressions hes just feeling the piece
i mean...meh. this doesn't to me have the life and personality that Kissin's or Gould's interpretations do nor the raw consistency and brilliance of Gilels'
😮❤ 🤐
Great
Horowitz at his best… an all time performance for me!!!
sublime ,such an amazing composition and played stunningly
I never thought of using the left hand like that, you hear a little trill when you go all the way up from d to e to d again. I thought of it more as a straight line going up and down, with the notes being played by the left hand, but I love interpreting that little part like that 😍😍
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
superb
too slow.
Many mistakes 😅 - maybe Beethoven would dislike it
Beethoven himself wasn't such a brilliant pianist, his playing style was criticized by his contemporaries. I think he would have appreciated Kempff.
He became the Beethoven himself for 7 minutes...
I hate and loathe this pretentious and insufferable little man, Lang Lang ... but what a performance ...!
❤
Fast does not equal music. Chopin would be horrified.
MAGNIFICO!!!
파도가 작게 작게 부서지는 느낌이다. 오른손 끝음이 울려서 파도가 작게 부서지는 그 모습이 떠오른다!! 정말 신기해. 우리나라 동해바다 강릉 파도가 생각이 난다.
People with small hand may wish to note how Barenboim handled the octave glissandi.
This recording is missing several measures - at least the entire first page, anyway.
Nobody breathed as much life into the sonata like Wilhelm. He didnt just play it, he felt it. Bravo
Magnífico ❤
Hard music to play
Genius!
The best Beethoven's interpreter. Ever. ❤
Wow I've gosebumps!
2024?
that first clapping idiot ruined the ending
I've compared Lang with Richter in playing this piece. He's not that skilled as Richter, of course. Interestingly, both pianists were rather unorthodox in rendering this piece. Really ambitious.
